We will not only focus on the Occupational Safety and Health Act and its standards (or lack thereof), but on the larger political agenda of the global economy and how it impacts on the safety and health of workers around the world. The class style will be participatory, including small group discussions and activities. Related videos will supplement our class discussion.

To provide an in depth study on the various provisions like: Adequately maintaining equipment and other systems to ensure their safety.

Provide training and information on how to carry out work processes safely.

Provide a safe place to work and working environment.

Liaise with health and safety experts when necessary.

Ensure tasks are handled safely.
